Zollan McCarty Large Clip Point Bowie ~ Custom ~ Vintage

This Large Clip Point Bowie Knife made by the late Zollan McCarty measures 14 1/4” overall with a broad 8 5/8” clip point blade equipped with a 5 1/2” sharpened false edge forged from 1/4” thick stock. The blade is mirror polished and bright with “ McCARTY ” maker mark on the blade. Brass double guard, full tang and exceptional gnarly stag handles. Zollan McCarty lived and worked in his workshop in Thomaston, GA. Zollan sold many of his knives at gun and knife shows in the south Georgia area where many of his customers recall meeting him in person and choosing a knife from his display table. His work is highly collectible and obviously very limited in availability.  Zollan made fixed blade camp knives, hunting knives, stag handled bowie knives and folders with advanced and complex features.  His work was featured on page one of “Knife World” publication in May of 1986 authored by Wayne V. Holter.  There is no sheath , but I have included a zippered pouch. The condition of the knife is near mint, with some light scratches , See all photos.
