Victorinox Battle of Morgarten ~ Vintage 1983

The Victorinox Battle of Morgarten is a limited edition 91mm Swiss Army Knife released in 1983 as the first entry in the "Swiss Battle Series". It features a detailed silver inlay on the black scales depicting the historical battle scene and a tool configuration similar to the current Spartan model.  Serial # 3798

  • Design and Aesthetics: The knife features black Cellidor scales with a large, intricate silver inlay scene of the Battle of Morgarten. The scene depicts the Swiss forces pushing Austrian knights into Lake Ägeri at a narrow pass.
  • Limited Edition: Only 9,999 pieces of this model were produced, each individually serialized on the liner behind the corkscrew. It originally came in a black wooden presentation box with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
  • Main Blade Engraving: The large knife blade is laser-engraved with the inscription "Morgarten 1315" and the crest of the canton of Schwyz, where the battle took place.
  • Historical Commemoration: The series was created to commemorate the battles and alliances that led to the formation of the Swiss nation. The Battle of Morgarten, fought on November 15, 1315, was a significant Swiss victory against the Habsburgs.
