North Star Damascus Ulu ~
This Ulu knife is handmade in Alaska by the North Star Knife & Ulu Company. Our knives are made in central Alaska where temperatures can reach -60 degrees in winter. To withstand this harsh environment they are made from top grade materials and with attention to detail. Uses: The ulu knife is a perfect addition to any kitchen. Perfect for cutting pizza or mincing garlic. The unique design of the ulu knife creates efficient ergonomics by placing the force of your hand directly over the blade. This results in less wrist and grip fatigue. Steel: The blade is handmade from the superior 1074 carbon steel and 15N20 steel. The 1074 and 15N20 carbon steel blades feature 2.5% nickel, giving it a very tough blade that withstands years of punishing use. Design: The knife is sturdy full tang construction. Process: his uniquely folded and forged Damascus steel is heat treated to a measured hardness between 55 and 60. Damascus layers range from 196 to 225. Care Instructions: Be sure to oil the blade from time to time to reduce oxidation on the high carbon steel.
