Kershaw Tyrade  1850 ~ Vintage 2006 ~ Rare

The Kershaw 1850 Tyrade is a discontinued, award-winning folding knife (Blade Magazine's Knife of the Year) known for its unique CPM-D2/154CM composite blade (tough D2 edge, resilient 154CM spine) and titanium handle with carbon fiber inlays, featuring SpeedSafe® assisted opening, a strong frame lock, and ambidextrous flipper for smooth, fast deployment, making it a high-end collector's piece.
  • Composite Blade Technology: The most unique feature is its patented composite blade, which fuses two types of steel: CPM-D2 tool steel for the cutting edge (known for edge retention and corrosion resistance) and 154CM stainless steel for the spine (known for toughness). The line where the two metals meet gives the blade a distinctive, puzzle-like appearance.
  • Assisted Opening: It features the patented SpeedSafe assisted-opening system, which uses double torsion bars to quickly deploy the blade with an index-finger flipper.
  • Handle Material: The handle is made of 6AL4V titanium with carbon fiber inlays in the original version, providing a strong yet visually appealing grip.
  • Locking Mechanism: It employs a sturdy frame lock mechanism to keep the blade securely in place during use.
  • Dimensions: The blade is approximately 3.63 inches  long, and the overall length of the knife when open is about 8.63 inches.
  • Weight: The knife weighs approximately 6.7 ounces .
  • Portability: It includes a removable stainless steel pocket clip for tip-down carry.
  • Designer: Ken Onion
