Kershaw Chive 1600X ~ Vintage 2004

Kershaw Chive model 1600X from around 2004 is a compact, Ken Onion-designed, assisted-opening knife with a 1.94-inch black-finished blade and black anodized aluminum handle scales. It is known for its small, pocket-friendly size and the SpeedSafe opening mechanism.

  • SpeedSafe Assisted Opening: The knife features Kershaw's patented SpeedSafe technology, which uses a torsion bar to assist in smoothly and quickly opening the blade with a push of the ambidextrous thumb stud or index finger flipper.
  • Safety Tip Lock: It includes a separate lock at the butt end of the knife (a Tip-Lock slider) to ensure the blade remains securely closed during transport.
  • Lock Mechanism: It uses a sturdy frame lock to secure the blade in the open position.
  • Portability: The small, flat design, light weight, and tip-down pocket clip make it ideal for everyday carry in a pocket, purse, or briefcase.
  • Made in the USA: Like other knives in the Chive series, this model was manufactured in the United States.
