Kershaw 1820 "Needs Work"  ~ 2007 1st production run

Kershaw 1820 "Needs Work"is a lightweight, US-made utility knife designed for everyday carry and detailed cutting tasks. It features a unique Wharncliffe blade shape and the patented Ken Onion SpeedSafe assisted opening mechanism.  1ST PRODUCTION RUN  2007

  • Blade Style: The knife features a modified Wharncliffe blade, which provides a straight, razor-like cutting edge excellent for detailed work like cutting boxes, carpet, or drywall, and offers very precise control with the fine tip.
  • Assisted Opening: The blade deploys quickly and smoothly using the patented Ken Onion SpeedSafe assisted opening system, activated by an index finger flipper.
  • Blade Material: The blade is typically made from Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel (some older or limited models may use Sandvik 13C26), known for its good edge retention, high hardness, and corrosion resistance.
  • Handle Material: The handle is made from durable, lightweight, glass-filled nylon(also referred to as polyimide), which offers a secure grip. The handle design is distinctive, with a sculpted, almost "science-fiction" look.
  • Locking Mechanism: A sturdy liner lock mechanism securely holds the blade in the open position during use.
  • Portability: It includes a pocket clip for tip-down, right-hand carry, and a lanyard hole for alternative carrying options.
