A classic American knife , KA-BAR Olean, NY USA 1217 USMC Fighting Knife & Leather Sheath in Box - Nice Unused Condition in the Original Box with Leather Sheath - Approx. 12 inches overall. Still has factory edge.

Included with the knife are photocopies of documents from KA-BAR. Size: overall length: Approx. 12 inches overall.: high carbon steel 9/64" thick (gauge) blade; all metal parts parkerized to eliminate light reflection and protect the steel; fully ground and sharpened swedge to allow cutting up or down at the point; 7" high carbon steel blade chosen for its excellent edge retention, yet ease of sharpening. Cutting edge factory sharpened and honed. 1/32" blood grooves highly compressed genuine cowhide leather washer handle with positive grip grooves. This type of handle will withstand high impact without working loose; steel pinned pommel 3/8" thick; solid steel fighting type double quillion guard; fibre washers between leather handle and metal guard and pommel to prevent corrosion; full tang construction; heavy duty oiled genuine cowhide leather sheath,

This early USMC knife ( Made in the 1980’s) is pre-owned but does not appear to have been used, never sharpened or carried and comes in an older style Ka-Bar  White box and all literature as issued by Ka-Bar, as production moved into later years the boxes were back in color and the literature included decreased.
