Historical Context

While original John Primble knives were distributed by Belknap Hardware until 1985, this 1988 edition was part of a revival series. Bluegrass Cutlery acquired the brand name and commissioned high-quality American manufacturers like Queen Cutlery to produce these collectibles to commemorate historical designs. Collectors value these 1988 versions for their traditional bone handles and strong blade "snap," which are characteristic of Queen-made slipjoints from that era
