G. Sakai GS-105 Intrepid ~ Vintage ~ Rare

The G. Sakai GS-105 Intrepid (Non-Serrated Wood Handle) is a highly collectible Japanese-made folding knife. While the GS-105 series is most commonly found with Kraton (rubber) handles and partially serrated blades, limited wood-handle variants were produced, often as specialized "Gentleman" or limited-edition runs.

  Specifications and Features

  • Blade Material: Typically forged from premium stainless steel, often VG-1 or 6A stainless steel, known for its excellent edge retention and corrosion resistance.
  • Edge Type: Features a plain (non-serrated) edge, which provides a sharp, clean cut suitable for a variety of tasks.
  • Handle Material: For the wood-handled version, G. Sakai often uses durable hardwoods like Pakkawood or Chestnut. The handles are designed for a comfortable, secure grip.
  • Design & Portability: It is characterized by a sleek, compact design, making it an ideal choice for discrete pocket carry.
  • Origin: Manufactured in Seki City, Japan, which is world-renowned for its long history of expert cutlery and sword-making.
