Visual & Structural Breakdown
- The Blade: Crafted with a traditional "Bayonet" grind, which features an asymmetrical, sleek swedge on the spine mimicking historical rifle bayonets. It is finished with either a bright mirror polish or a clean satin finish, explicitly stamped with the "Frank B. Italy" authentication mark.
- The Handle: Outfitted with vibrant, dyed Blue Briar Wood (sometimes utilizing Burl or Poplar variants depending on the specific batch). The natural, swirling grain of the briar wood creates a premium, high-contrast look against the bright metal hardware.
- Internal Frame: Built using highly durable solid brass liners and pins, providing internal weight, structural stability, and an authentic warmth to the construction.
- Bolsters & Hardware: Features polished nickel-silver front and rear bolsters.
Mechanism & Functionality
- Deployment: Fired via a fast, single-action automatic leaf spring, triggered by pressing the polished nickel-silver push button on the handle.
- Safety Lock: Equipped with a sliding safety switch on the handle face to physically block the push button and prevent accidental firing while carried in a pocket.
- Locking Mechanism: Locks up tightly using a classic Picklock.
- Picklock Release: Unlike standard swivel-bolster stilettos, this knife features a traditional picklock mechanism. To close the open, locked blade, you must manually pull or "pick" up the back-spring lock tab located near the bolster ears.
