This is a rare , vintage fixed blade knife from the 1970`s. It is a medium sized hunter with a wood handle and brass guard and butt. "ENSIGN" is on the base of the blade. The overall length is 8", blade is 3 1/2". It comes with black leather sheath and box.

Ensign Knives was a small company producing "Bench-Made" knives in Utah. They were designed and made by Gil Hibben and marketed through Browning from 1968 til 1970 at which time the Ensign brothers Dave and Joe moved the operation to Gunnison UT and continued making knives for Browning. In 1979, they were introduced to Buster Warenski who designed new knives for the company which continued to make knives til 1984.
