The 1996 Case XX Dwight Eisenhower Limited Edition Mint Set ( 1 of 500) is a commemorative collection featuring four variations of the "Eisenhower" (pattern 6263) pen knife.
The set honors President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s fondness for this specific Case model, which he often gifted during his presidency. President Eisenhower was a known fan of Case knives and famously gave them to guests at official White House dinners. The set commemorates this, with the inside lid of the case describing how Eisenhower would sometimes have guests toss a penny at him in exchange for the knife. The 6263 pattern is a 3-1/8 inch closed, two-blade pen knife that became synonymous with the President, leading Case to officially name it the "Eisenhower" in the 1990s.
