During the 1965–1969 "USA Era," Case knives were stamped with "CASE XX" over "USA," prior to the introduction of the famous ten-dot dating system in 1970.

Specifications & Description
  • Blade Design: It features a single, long Clip Point blade. The blade spans roughly 3.25 inches and was traditionally crafted from Case’s high-carbon Chrome Vanadium (CV) steel, though some stainless steel (SS) variants exist. The clip blade is optimized for detail work, slicing, and everyday utility tasks.
  • Handle & Jigging: The handles are crafted from authentic cattle bone, most commonly finished in standard jigged brown bone or red bone variants typical of the late 1960s. The textured jigging provides a robust, non-slip grip while showing beautiful natural color variations.
  • Frame & Barehead Construction: Measuring 4.125 inches closed, this pattern is historically built as a "barehead" knife. It features a polished nickel silver bolster at the pivot end, but leaves the rear base frame uncovered (bare) without a bottom bolster. Brass liners and brass pins securely hold the bone scales to the frame.
  • Shield: The knife face features an embedded, polished nickel silver Case oval script shield.
