Case / Crandall Cutlery Company Acquisition Set ~ 2007 ~ Vintage
Vintage ~
W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery celebrates another Case Family Brand Crandall Cutlery Company with the Crandall Acquisition Set. In 1905, W.R. Case & Sons moved operations to a new factory on Bank Street in Bradford, Pennsylvania. At that time, the largest Case stockholder was Herbert Crandall, brother-in-law of company founder Russ Case. Crandall ran his own factory, Crandall Cutlery Company, until 1911 when he merged his business with W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company. One part of the Crandall influence can be seen in the Long Tail C of the Case logo. Case adopted this shortly after the Crandall acquisition. The Crandall Acquisition Set consists of a beautifully crafted Walnut Bone (6172 SS) Clasp with Crandall jigging and tang stamp, and Case Bowtie shield. Historic Crandall, and W.R. Case & Sons artwork adorns the Tru-sharp" surgical steel blade. A handsome wooden box features the portraits of these giants in American cutlery. A Genuine Case Collectable limited to 500 sets. Certificate of Authenticity. As with all natural material color and texture may vary. Long Tail C serialization.
