- The 1978 Tang Stamp (2-Dot): Case used a countdown dot system in the 1970s. A 1970 knife started with 10 dots. By 1978, exactly 2 dots remained below the "CASE XX / USA" script logo.
- The "Red Letter" Script Etch: As part of a special 7-pattern set released that year, the master blade features a distinctive crimson/red scroll accent block letting or blade etch.
- The Shield: Features the traditional nickel silver pinned shield on the genuine stag handle.
