Case 1992 Alan Kulwicki " Golden Bowie" ~ Vintage
Rare Case Collectible ~ Vintage
This is a 1992 "Golden Bowie" Alan Kulwicki tribute knife. It is 14 1/2 inches long, with the blade measuring 9 1/2 inches long and 2 inches wide at the widest part. It is gold plated with a stag handle. He was not considered a very popular driver by the vendors. All they wanted to see was big bucks and the name Kulwicki did not spell big bucks. There simply was not a whole lot to buy as for collectibles bearing his name. After the 1992 Atlanta race, Alan Kulwicki was crowned the "1992 Winston Cup Champion". That very day, a contract was signed to do a 1992 Championship knife. Alan was killed on April 1, 1993, in a plane crash. Immediately, a request was made to go to 2000 championship knives. That request was denied, but approval was granted to make a matching Case "Tribute" knife. The final knife in the Alan Kulwicki series was a "Golden Bowie" by Case, only 250 were made. Many of the collectors that purchased the Championship and Tribute trappers were assigned numbers that would match their bowie.
