Buck Creek knives were originally a brand made in Germany for a Kentucky company, Millard Burns of Burns & Company, starting in 1968. The brand was later acquired by other companies.

- Origin: Initiated in 1968 by Millard Burns of London, Kentucky, who contracted with a German cutlery company in Solingen, Germany to produce knives to his specifications.
- Branding: Knives featured a "Buck Creek" stamp on the tang and a Solingen, Germany origin on the back.
- Acquisition: After Mr. Burns' death in 1985, Clarence Risner acquired the popular "Indian Head" trademark, and Taylor Cutlery later bought the rights to the "Buck Creek" marking in the late 1980s.
