Bruce Gillespie Custom Fixed Blade ~ Vintage

Custom knife maker Bruce Gillespie of New Hampshire perfectly blends classical influence and modern ideals with the utmost care and precision. Whether you are a knife collector or a knife user, you will appreciate his attention to detail. This unique example of his work is unlike anything we have seen. It is a very large fixed blade with a Damascus blade with a Copper Wire bolster. The handle is Bone with what appears to be wood separating the 2 sides. One side has a Giraffe etched on the bone.The other side is gray bone. There is "Gillespie" stamped on the blade. Measures 15" OAL and blade is 9 1/2". It comes with a very nice Black Leather sheath. The age is unknown, but it probably is an early knife , considering there is nothing similar to it in his recent works. This is a work of art and probably a one of a kind. The condition is near mint with slight patina , see all photos.

MINT: A factory fresh knife, absolutely original as it came from the manufacturer, not carried or sharpened, a perfect knife.

NEAR MINT: A new knife that has seen sometimes, show some slight carry or shop wear, blades snap perfectly, handles show no cracks.

EXCELLENT: Shows no more than 10% blade wear, handles are sound, no cracks, blades snap good.

VERY GOOD: About 25% blade wear, slight cracks in handles, may have one lazy blade, stamping clearly visible to the naked eye, no blades changed or repaired.

FAIR: 50% blade wear, blades lazy, cracks and chips in handles, handles replaced with same type, blades repaired, stampings faint but readable with a glass.

POOR: Blades very worn, handles bad or missing, blades have been replaced with the same type, reading of the stamp is almost impossible, even with a glass, good mostly only for parts.
