Anza  Medium Hunter ~ 2009

Anza 6 ¾" Medium Hunter ~ 2009 is a handmade, fixed-blade tool crafted by Anza Knives, a USA manufacturer famous for creating rugged blades out of repurposed high-carbon steel files. Based on production data from that era, the 2009 designation means the back of the blade's tang is stamped or engraved with "Anza USA 09" to mark its year of production.

At an overall length of 6 ¾ inches, this specific size typically corresponds to their popular "Medium Hunter" profile.

 Specifications & Features
  • Blade Material: Formed from a high-carbon tool steel file (typically 1095, W-1, or W-2 steel). The file is annealed, cold-ground, and polished, leaving some of the original crosshatch file teeth visible on the non-sharpened flats for a signature look.
  • Blade Length: Usually between 2 5/8 inches and 3 inches, depending on the exact model shape (such as a clip point or drop point).
  • Handle Construction: Full-tang construction where the steel extends completely through the handle.
  • Handle Material: Laminated, plastic-impregnated wood scales (often Dymondwood or select hardwoods like Walnut). These are highly compressed, smooth-finished, and ergonomically shaped without visible pins or rivets.
  • Year Stamp: Engraved with "09" on the extended tang to indicate its 2009 build date.
  • Sheath: Originally packaged with a heavy-duty, genuine top-grain cowhide leather belt sheath.
Because each Anza knife is handmade, minor variations in wood grain coloration and exact blade grind profile are common.

  • Never used, carried or sharpened
  • Leather sheath
  • Condition is mint
